As Riviera celebrated its 60th anniversary, we proudly announced the establishment of our NEW HIGH SCHOOL.
Since being founded in 1950, Riviera has been a leader in education and in the community. At a historic moment for our school, we were able to announce that Riviera was establishing a new campus to serve high school and middle school students (grades 6 through 12). The new Riviera Preparatory School campus is located just east of Baptist Hospital and opened for the 2011-2012 school year. At that time, our sixth through eighth grade students relocated to the newly constructed facility as we expanded through high school, and Riviera Day School continued to serve preschool through fifth grade at the Coral Gables location.
The new campus houses state-of-the-art classrooms, a media center/library, a cafeteria/auditorium, a full indoor gymnasium, a fitness room, fine arts facilities, athletic fields, a dance studio, an aquatics center, and more.
The development of the high school was a dream for our students, our parents, and our school for many years. It was a natural part of Riviera's evolution and served to further its mission of creating a unique educational institution in which we provide our students with an optimal, safe learning environment that encourages students to become independent, responsible, life-long learners.
