Coaches

  • Director of Track

    AJ Ricketts joined Riviera as a coach in the fall of 2017. He ran four years of cross country and track at the University of Miami, where he competed in two ACC Championships and NCAA Regional Meets. His top performance for Miami came at the 2014 USF Invitational, where he finished fifth among Division I runners and first for the the Hurricanes. He has since placed in the top 20 of the Miami Marathon, and in April 2018 competed in the Boston Marathon.

    Off the course, AJ is the Play-by-Play Voice for the FIU Panthers, broadcasting football on 790 AM the Ticket, and Panther basketball and baseball on ESPN3, as well as a number of Miami games on that platform. He spent 2015-2017 as a sports anchor at NBC/FOX Wilmington in North Carolina.

    AJ began his running career in Pensacola, FL, where he ran for Coach Eric Nelson at a program that finished in the top 15 at the FHSAA State Championships.
