Learning at Riviera

At Riviera, learning goes beyond the classroom. Our programs are tailored to support students' growth at every stage, from preschool to college prep. With a focus on curiosity, critical thinking, and personal development, we create an environment where every student can thrive.

Preschool

Riviera’s preschool program nurtures each child’s unique abilities, fostering a positive, loving learning environment for three and four-year-olds. With a low student-to-teacher ratio and individualized care, students benefit from a multi-sensory curriculum that promotes cognitive, social, and emotional growth.

Through a blend of hands-on activities, small group work, and learning centers, children develop key skills in early literacy, math, and science. Technology is introduced early with computers and interactive tools, supporting learning in engaging ways. Specialists in music, Spanish, and physical education further enrich the core curriculum, and after-school activities extend opportunities for exploration and growth.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten at Riviera is designed to be a pivotal year, laying the foundation for success in elementary school. Students engage in a structured curriculum that emphasizes reading, writing, and advanced math, while nurturing creativity through thematic units in science, social studies, and the arts.

With small groups and learning stations, our low student-to-teacher ratio ensures personalized support. Specialists in physical education, music, technology, and Spanish broaden students' academic experience, and regular visits to the media center promote critical thinking. After school, students can explore additional activities like gymnastics, swimming, and arts and crafts.

Elementary (Grades 1-5)

Riviera’s elementary program focuses on strong academic foundations and well-rounded personal development. Students in grades 1-2 benefit from self-contained classrooms, while grades 3-5 follow a more departmentalized schedule. Small class sizes allow our teachers to provide individualized attention in language arts, advanced math, science, and social studies.

With a commitment to nurturing the whole child, Riviera integrates art, music, physical education, technology, and Spanish into the core curriculum. Students engage in project-based learning, hands-on technology integration, and one-to-one computing, which prepare them for academic excellence and success at the Preparatory School level.

Preparatory (Grades 6-12)

At Riviera Preparatory, students experience a college-preparatory environment that challenges and supports them in equal measure. Our curriculum, housed in a state-of-the-art facility, offers students in grades 6-12 a wide range of opportunities to grow academically, socially, and personally.

With departmentalized classes, students can specialize in regular or advanced levels, including Honors and AP courses. Core subjects are complemented by electives in arts, engineering, and the sciences. Interactive technology, such as tablets and whiteboards, enhances the learning experience, ensuring students are equipped for success in college and beyond.
