Modeled on a college-level business administration program, Riviera’s Business Program helps students build knowledge in economics, marketing, management, and finance while strengthening analytical thinking, communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Leadership and Wealth Management Honors introduces students to Riviera’s High School of Business program, building a strong foundation in both personal and professional growth. In the first semester, students strengthen their skills in communication, emotional intelligence, operations, and professional development.
During the second semester, they explore economic decision-making, the time and value of money, financial management, and investment strategies. Through hands-on projects, students apply classroom learning in meaningful, real-world ways.
As the first year of the High School of Business program, Principles of Business and Economics Honors helps students develop a broad understanding of how businesses operate within a changing economic landscape.
Students study business law, financial analysis, operations, marketing, and strategic management, while also examining the impact of consumer behavior, government policy, and wider economic conditions. Throughout the course, students complete a business analysis report and conduct an environmental scan of the local business community.
In this second-year course, students deepen their understanding of key marketing and finance concepts through practical, collaborative learning. Topics include channel management, marketing information management, market planning, pricing, promotion, selling, and product and service management.
Students also examine the ethical and legal dimensions of marketing while expanding their knowledge of accounting and finance through team activities and a corporate investment project. By analyzing financial statements, calculating ratios, and interpreting financial data, students learn how informed business decisions are made.
This third-year course challenges students to connect management theory with business success through both individual and team-based activities. Students explore managerial styles, legal and ethical issues, entrepreneurship, human resources, financial analysis, and strategic management.
They also gain practical experience in delegation, organizational structure, coordination, and interpreting statistical findings. By planning, organizing, staffing, directing, leading, and controlling business activities, students develop a realistic understanding of what it takes to launch and manage a successful business.
Students build leadership, financial fluency, and real-world business confidence through honors courses, projects, and internships.
Build confidence as a communicator and emerging leader through emotional intelligence, professional development, and project-based learning.
Strengthen financial fluency as you explore wealth management, investments, accounting, and the time value of money.
Explore pricing, promotion, selling, market planning, and customer behavior through real-world business challenges.
Understand how businesses respond to economic conditions, government policy, and consumer trends while developing analysis, planning, and management skills.

Student growth in Riviera’s Business program is supported through a combination of rigorous academic study, project-based learning, and real-world application. Students explore entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, and management while developing their understanding through hands-on experiences that connect classroom learning to practical contexts at our private school in Miami.
Riviera’s small class sizes, personalized instruction, and meaningful teacher feedback help students strengthen key skills over time, while internships and honors courses in the High School of Business further extend learning beyond the classroom. Families are kept informed of student progress through MAP testing, progress reports, report cards, and quarterly award ceremonies, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the year.
Riviera’s Business program helps students develop a strong set of transferable life skills that support success in school, university, and future careers. Through their study of entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, and management, students build practical understanding while strengthening communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Across the wider Riviera experience, these competencies are further supported through Thrive Time, advisory sessions, leadership opportunities, clubs, athletics, and service programs, which help students grow in self-awareness, relationship skills, resilience, and responsible decision-making. Together, these experiences prepare students to think critically, work effectively with others, and apply their learning with confidence in real-world contexts.
Riviera’s Prep Campus helps students expand their language proficiency and global understanding through World Languages instruction in Spanish, Italian, and French. In these classes, students improve communication skills while gaining exposure to new cultures, ideas, and global contexts.
Ongoing grades and assessments support this learning process by tracking achievement and encouraging continued progress in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension. When appropriate, students can also prepare for AP testing, highlighting Riviera’s role as an advanced placement school in Miami.
Experiential learning is a defining feature of Riviera’s Business program. Through DECA, students take part in competitive events across business, finance, hospitality, and marketing, where they are challenged to solve real-world business problems and present their ideas to industry professionals and judges. Their success at the regional, state, and international levels reflects the strength of their preparation and the high standard of achievement within the program.
Beyond competition, students extend their learning through authentic business experiences outside the classroom. By working with local businesses and community organizations, they contribute to marketing strategies, support project development, and engage with real clients while building practical skills and professional confidence. These experiences give students meaningful exposure to the demands and opportunities of today’s business world and help them understand the real impact of their work.
Riviera’s Business program introduces students to a wide range of future pathways, including entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, management, and broader business-related fields. Through internships, honors courses, partnerships with organizations, and engagement with professionals and industry leaders, students gain meaningful exposure to real-world business environments and develop a stronger understanding of possible university and career directions.
The program combines academic rigor with practical experience, giving students opportunities to strengthen leadership, professional awareness, and career-ready skills. Supported by Riviera’s personalized college and career guidance, students are encouraged to explore their interests, make informed decisions, and prepare confidently for collegiate business programs and future careers at our private High School in Coral Gables.
