At Riviera Schools, learning is a purposeful journey of growth in knowledge, skills, and understanding. Through Social Skills for Life and Thrive Time, students develop self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Assemblies, guest speakers, advisory groups, and everyday school experiences help these skills become part of daily life across the Riviera community.
Thrive Time supports students in mastering the 5 SSL Competencies through self-understanding, empathy, collaboration, and thoughtful choices.

At Riviera’s Prep Campus, the Social Skills for Life curriculum comes to life through Thrive Time, guided instruction, and everyday student experiences that build confidence, communication, responsible decision-making, and the habits and mindset needed for private school college preparation and long-term success.
Thrive Time takes place every Wednesday and Friday (9:36am – 10:12am) and is an important part of our school week. On Wednesdays, students meet in small advisory groups where staff facilitate lessons from the Second Step Curriculum. These lessons focus on Social Skills for Life (SSL), giving students regular opportunities to practice self-awareness, empathy, communication, and thoughtful decision-making.
These lessons are reinforced well beyond advisory time and become part of the broader student experience.
By consistently embedding these skills across the curriculum, school culture, and co-curricular experiences, Riviera students develop the confidence, communication, and decision-making abilities needed to thrive academically, socially, and personally. This intentional approach prepares students for success both now and in the future, equipping them with habits and mindsets that last well beyond the classroom.

At Riviera Schools, computer labs extend learning beyond everyday classroom technology by giving students access to powerful tools, dedicated workspaces, and focused instruction. Students use these labs to develop essential skills in word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, and coding.
Beginning in Kindergarten through Grade 5, students visit the computer lab regularly to engage in computer science learning and build early coding skills. As they grow, students continue expanding their knowledge through electives and collaborative projects in areas such as graphic design, web design, computer applications, and computer programming.
These experiences help Riviera students develop creativity, logical thinking, and real-world digital skills that support success in school and beyond.
At Riviera Schools, technology supports a seamless connection between school and home. Students can access digital textbooks, assignments, and learning resources anytime, while cloud-based tools make it easy to stay organized and engaged.
Riviera’s communication platforms also help parents and students stay informed with access to homework, course information, grades, and school news. Teachers maintain regular communication with families, ensuring that technology strengthens the partnership between school and home while supporting student success.

Technology at Riviera is thoughtfully woven into daily teaching and learning across the curriculum. Students and faculty have access to a wide range of digital platforms, subscription-based services, and assessment tools that enhance instruction in subjects from reading and writing to science and math.
This intentional approach allows technology to support learning in practical and relevant ways, giving students more opportunities to engage with content, respond in real time, and deepen understanding. Rather than standing apart from the curriculum, technology is used as a dynamic tool that strengthens the overall educational experience.
At Riviera Schools, students in Grades 3 – 12 receive an individual tablet for use both in school and at home, creating a strong one-to-one learning environment. With access to digital textbooks, note-taking tools, cloud storage, apps, and classroom resources, students are able to engage with learning in flexible and meaningful ways.
In the early years, classroom tablets are integrated into instruction to support small-group work, learning centers, and guided activities. Across all grade levels, Riviera emphasizes the responsible, safe, and ethical use of technology, helping students build strong digital habits alongside academic skills. This approach ensures that students are equipped not only with devices, but with the confidence and responsibility to use them well.
Every Riviera classroom is equipped with interactive boards and document cameras that support active, visually rich instruction. These tools help teachers present concepts more clearly, incorporate multimedia resources, and create lessons that are engaging and adaptable to different learning styles.
From foundational reading and math in the early grades to advanced coursework in programming, engineering, and other upper-level subjects, classroom technology enhances instruction across all divisions.
