Age 3 – Grade 2 

Summer at our Day School campus is more than a program. It is a season of discovery, creativity, and friendship. Located in Coral Gables, this enriching experience welcomes children for a summer filled with exploration and fun. Grades 6 – 12  

At Riviera Prep Summer School, summer becomes an opportunity for students to grow, achieve, and get ahead academically through 1-credit, 0.5-credit, and non-credit courses that support a wide range of goals, from strengthening core skills to exploring new subjects in a focused, supportive environment.

With small class sizes, personalized attention, and rigorous yet encouraging instruction tailored to individual needs, students can prepare for advanced study through Honors courses or build long-term academic skills while making meaningful progress at one of the leading Miami prep schools.

For students entering Grades 2 – 5, summer reading is required to support a smooth transition into the new school year. Math practice is optional, but strongly encouraged to help students review important concepts and return ready to learn.

Riviera Day School Summer Assignments

Riviera Preparatory School students complete summer reading and math assignments designed to reinforce learning and prepare them for the year ahead. These assignments are assessed and contribute to first-quarter coursework, helping students return to school confident, engaged, and ready to learn.

Summer Reading 

Students are expected to complete their assigned reading before the first week of school. Early classwork will assess comprehension and engagement with the required texts.

Summer School is open to rising 6th through 12th graders, including both Riviera and non-Riviera students. Classes take place on the Riviera Preparatory School campus, located at 9775 SW 87th Ave., Miami, FL 33176. 

The overall Summer School program runs from June 8 through July 10, 2026, and is closed on June 19 and July 3. 

One-credit courses run from June 8 to July 10, with no classes on June 19 and July 3. 

Half-credit courses are offered in two sessions: 

  • Session 1: June 8–23 (closed June 19) 
  • Session 2: June 24–July 10 (closed July 3) 

Non-credit courses are also offered in two sessions: 

  • Session 1: June 8–23 (closed June 19) 
  • Session 2: June 24–July 10 (closed July 3) 
  • One-credit courses: 8:00am–1:00pm 
  • Half-credit courses: 8:00am–1:00pm 
  • Non-credit morning courses: 8:00am–1:00pm
