Visual Arts

Our Visual Arts program encourages creativity, curiosity, and self-expression through drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and design. Students build foundational techniques through guided lessons and open-ended exploration, while gaining confidence in their creative abilities.

 

Along the way, they develop an appreciation for different artists, styles, and cultures as they discover their own artistic voice.

Music program

Our music program fosters a lifelong appreciation for music while building skills in rhythm, melody, and performance through an engaging, sequential curriculum. Students explore music theory, vocal technique, and instruments through singing, movement, and classroom instruments, developing listening skills, coordination, confidence, collaboration, creativity, and joyful self-expression.

Annual Art Show

Each year, Riviera’s elementary Visual Arts program culminates in a special Art Show held at the Prep campus, where children in kindergarten through fifth grade exhibit artwork created throughout the year.

This celebratory event gives every child the opportunity to share creativity with family and the wider school community while building confidence, craftsmanship, and reflection through the experience of presenting work in a gallery-style setting.

Riviera’s Academic Enrichment Program gives qualifying students in Grades 1 – 5 a more challenging, stimulating learning experience. Designed for top scholars, the program combines accelerated lessons with enrichment activities that extend learning beyond the classroom.

 

Through interdisciplinary projects, students strengthen logical reasoning, problem-solving, collaboration, leadership, cultural literacy, and creative thinking. Grade-level themes such as Science Fair, the stock market, mock trials, the Seven Wonders of the World, the Amazon rainforest, US symbols and monuments, and the Westward Movement make learning meaningful and engaging.
